50 free graphic design lessons

The 50 lessons below were compiled on a site called PSD Tuts Plus, but are from all over the internet. The site specialises in providing high quality photoshop tutorials and graphic design articles for designers from skill levels of 'just starting out' to professional.

The lessons cover every aspect of design including many on the subject of typography, specifically the difference between typefaces and anatomy, rather than bespoke typography. Some of these are sightly obscure, not exactly need-to-know, for example colour psychology and impacts on moods. While you might not need all of these, I would say it's probably worth a skim through.

In particular, lesson 3 is covered by one of my favourite designers, David Airey, covering many different typography resources you can look into. The lessons are definitely worth a read, if you're not pressed for time.
